How to proceed after an interruption in voltage supply
How to proceed after an interruption in voltage supply
When the voltage supply is interrupted, the control unit loses all the self-adaptation or basic settings values and the conformity code is cleared. Depending on vehicle mileage, this may cause important faults in driving performance.
Special tools and workshop equipment required

t  Fault reader -V.A.G 1551- or Vehicle systems checker -V.A.G 1552- with Lead -V.A.G 1551/3B-
Work sequence
After an interruption in voltage supply, the following operations must be carried out:
–  Switch on the ignition for 10 seconds minimum.
–  Switch off the ignition.
–  Adapt the engine control unit to the throttle valve drive unit → Chapter.
–  Test the idling → Chapter.
  Note!
During the idling test the activated charcoal filter solenoid valve and air conditioning are deactivated and lambda regulationelf-adaptation begins.
–  Run a road test long enough to eliminate the driving performance faults.
During the road test the following service conditions must be met:
t  The coolant temperature must reach over 80 °C.
t  Once that temperature has been reached, the following load states must be reached several times idling half load full load deceleration.
t  At full load revs must surpass 3500 rpm.
