t  When dealing with complaints, it is absolutely necessary to know the functions of and how to operate the radio/navigation system.

t  The anti-theft coding is a fixed code → Operating instructions
t  When retrofitting, repairing or fault finding, refer to → Self-diagnosis, → Current flow diagrams, Electrical fault finding and Fitting locations, → Fitting instructions.
t  If the navigation system is inaccurate in vehicles 06.00 ►, adapt the tyre circumference ⇒ Adapting navigation system components → Chapter. In vehicles ► 05.00, the navigation system is adapted using the adaptation function, → Chapter.
t  When the battery is reconnected, check operation of electrical equipment (radio, clock, convenience electronics and so on) according to the workshop manual and/or the owner's manual.
t  The use of magnetic-base aerials may lead to permanent magnetisation of the vehicle roof, resulting in malfunction of the navigation system. If a customer complains about imprecise or erroneous indication of direction of the navigation system, ask the customer if a magnetic-base aerial has been used before beginning repairs.
