Installing repair kit for headlight range control motor

Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Protective glasses
t  Protective gloves
  Note
t  Install repair kit → Parts catalogue if headlight range control motor is defective.
t  Therefore there is no need to replace the entire headlight.
Removal:
   
–  Switch off ignition and all electrical consumers and take out ignition key.
–  Turn light switch to „0“ position.
–  Unscrew bolts -arrows-.
–  Disengage solenoid valve 1 for the active carbon vessel -N80--item 1- on the air duct.
–  Remove air duct -2-.

–  Unhook retaining spring -arrow- and remove cover from headlamp housing -1-.
–  Press ball head of actuator shaft downwards out of its mounting by tilting control motor.
–  Detach electrical connector from control motor.

–  Turn control motor -2- counterclockwise -arrow- and remove out of housing -3- (see -arrow-).
Installation
Installation is carried out in reverse order.
–  Close housing cover.
–  Secure housing cover with retaining spring.
