Lock cylinder: Removing and installing
Removal:
–  Disconnect battery → Chapter
–  Remove steering column switch module → Chapter.
–  Detach electrical connections of the reader coil.

  Note
To remove the lock cylinder the spare key without illumination and remote control function is needed, as removal is only possible using a key with a flat handle.
–  Turn spare key to ignition „ON“ position, thus aligning recess in trim -arrow- with hole in ignition lock.

For illustration purposes, the correct ignition lock position is shown without ignition key.

–  Insert steel wire or pin (ø approx. 1.5 mm) into the hole -1- as far as it will go, at the same time, remove the locking cylinder -2- with the reader coil of the steering lock housing -3-.
  WARNING
The steering lock must not be operated without the lock cylinder, as otherwise it locks completely. A locked steering lock must be replaced.

Installation
Installation is carried out in reverse order, noting the following:
–  Insert spare ignition key into lock cylinder and turn to ignition „on“ position.
–  Re-insert steel wire/pin -1- in hole on end face as far as it will go.
–  Slide lock cylinder -2- with reading coil into steering lock housing -3-.
–  The wire must then be removed and the lock cylinder inserted firmly, until you hear it seating itself.
–  Plug in electrical connector on immobiliser reader coil.
