  Note
The illustrations show removal and installation for the left side. The removal of the right side is basically a mirror image.
Removing:
–  Switch off ignition and all electrical loads, and pull out ignition key.
Left-hand side of vehicle:
   
–  Open stowage compartment and remove cover -1-.

–  Twist plug -1- in -direction of arrow- and remove.

–  Unscrew securing bolt -1-.
Right-hand side of vehicle:
  N94-12094
–  Push down decorative strip -2- in right luggage compartment trim and unscrew securing bolt -1-.
Continued for both sides of vehicle:
–  Remove tail light housing from body aperture in side panel. Observe connected wiring lengths when doing this.

–  Pull primary locking mechanism -arrow- and release and separate connector -1-.
–  Remove tail light housing.
Installing:
Installation is carried out in the reverse sequence; note the following:
  Caution
Risk of wiring damage.
The wiring harness for the tail lights could become trapped when installing.
Once the electrical connector has been fitted, the wiring harness must be fed through the aperture to the inside without it getting trapped.
–  Tighten the fixing screws to the stop by hand (max. 2 Nm) as well as attach and lock the plug connector.
–  When installation is complete, check gap/shut lines to body and function of tail light.
