Removal:
  A13-10233
Panel
–  With the ignition switched off, disconnect battery earth cable → Chapter.
–  Remove engine cover -arrows-.
  Note
  E10-10062
Before removing, mark direction of Poly-V belt with chalk or felt-tipped pen. Running a used belt in the opposite direction could destroy it.
–  To loosen poly V-belt, pivot tensioner for poly V-belt in direction of -arrow- and lock in place using locking pin -T40098-.
–  Remove the ribbed belt.

–  Remove the bracket of the intake pipe of the air duct hose -2-.
  Note
Disregard: Item -1-.
  A10-10320
–  Unscrew mounting bolts -1- and -2- from the upper radiator hose -3- at the inlet manifold.
–  Unscrew connecting bolt -4- from the upper radiator hose -3- together with the fuel line.
–  Lift the upper radiator hose and support at the engine cover bolt.

–  Unscrew the screws at the top and bottom -arrows- and remove alternator to the front.

–  Unplug the electrical connector -1-.
–  Unscrew terminal 30/B+ -item 2-.
–  Remove the alternator.
Installation
Installation is carried out in reverse order, noting the following:
Poly-V belt routing
  A27-10212
1 - Vibration damper
2 - Poly V-belt tensioning element
3 - Poly-V belt
4 - Alternator
5 - Pump for power steering
6 - Guide roller
7 - Air-conditioning compressor / air conditioning

  Note
t  Hose connections and hoses for charge air system must be free from oil and grease before fitting.
t  Secure all hose connections with the correct type of hose clips (same as original equipment) → Parts catalogue
–  Make sure poly V-belt is properly positioned and correctly routed.
–  Connect battery. Steps required → Anchor.
–  Start engine and check that belt runs properly.
