Removing and installing control unit with display for radio and navigation -J503-
Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Radio release tool -T10057-
–  When renewing control unit, select „Replacement“ function for appropriate control unit in „Guided Fault Finding“.
To do so, use the vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system -VAS 505X-.
–  Switch off all electrical components.
–  Remove the ignition key.
Removal:
  W00-1042
–  Insert radio release tools -T10057--arrows- into slots on control unit with display for radio and navigation -J503- until they engage. The handle ring tips point outwards.
–  Pull control unit with display for radio and navigation -J503- out of dash panel.
–  Release and unplug electrical connectors at control unit with display for radio and navigation -J503-.
–  Press release tabs on control unit with display for radio and navigation -J503- and remove radio release tool -T10057-.
Installation
–  Plug in all connectors.
–  Carefully slide control unit with display for radio and navigation -J503- into dash panel until it engages in mounting frame.
