Check oil level and oil temperature sender G266
Check oil level and oil temperature sender -G266-
Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Handheld multimeter, e.g. -V.A.G 1526 A-
Test conditions
l  Oil temperature at least 70 °C
l  The oil level is OK
–  Raise vehicle.
–  Remove the noise insulation.
–  Disconnect plug from oil level and oil temperature sender.
   
–  Connect handheld multimeter to the contacts 1 and 3 of the oil level and oil temperature sender.
Specified value: approx. 15.5 MΩ
–  If the specified value is not reached, replace the oil level and oil temperature sender.
–  Connect handheld multimeter to the contacts 1 and 2 of the oil level and oil temperature sender to measure the resistance.

20 °Capprox. 8.67 Ω
50 °Capprox. 1.87 Ω

–  If the specified value is not reached, replace the oil level and oil temperature sender.
–  If the specified value is reached, then check the cable to the oil level and oil temperature sender → Current flow diagrams and Fitting locations.
–  If the cable to the sender is O.K., then replace the dash panel insert.
