Steering column switch > < High level brake light
Removing and installing high level brake light
Removing and installing high level brake light
–  Switch off the ignition and all electrical components.
Remove high level brake light - Octavia
–  Remove the tailgate trim panel → Body Work; Rep. gr.70.
   
–  Release screws -2- (0,8 Nm).
–  Release locking tabs -arrows-.
–  Unplug connector -1-.
–  Remove high level brake light.
Install
–  Installation is carried out in the reverse order.
  Note
The high level brake light does not have a bulb but is fitted instead with LEDs. Replacement of the individual LEDs is not possible so the brake light must be replaced as a complete unit in the case of repairs.
Remove high level brake light - Octavia Combi
–  Remove the tailgate trim panel → Body Work; Rep. gr.70.
  S94-0173
–  Release nuts -1- (0.8 Nm).
–  Unlatch locking tab -2-.
–  Slightly pull out the high level brake light.
–  Detach connector and hose to spray nozzle.
Install
–  Installation is carried out in the reverse order.
  Note
The high level brake light does not have a bulb but is fitted instead with LEDs. Replacement of the individual LEDs is not possible so the brake light must be replaced as a complete unit in the case of repairs.
