Thermostat: Service and Repair

Thermostat 

REMOVAL 

1. Lift-up the vehicle. 

2. Remove under cover.
3. Drain engine coolant completely. 

4. Disconnect radiator outlet hose from thermostat river

5. Remove thermostat cover and gasket, and pull out the thermostat.

INSTALLATION 

1. Install the thermostat in the water pump, and install the thermostat cover together with a gasket.

NOTE: Replace gasket with a new one.

Thermostat must be installed with jiggle pin (A) facing the front side.
Tightening torque: 6.5 Nm (0.66 kgf-m, 4.8 ft. lbs.) 

2. Fill coolant.
