Canister Purge Solenoid: Description and Operation

PURPOSE 

The purge control solenoid valve is controlled by the ECM and provides optimal purge control according to coolant temperature, engine speed and
vehicle speed.  Canister purge takes place during vehicle operation except under certain conditions, such as idle.
