Suspension - Front Strut Noise

Countermeasure to Eliminate Front Strut Noise

INTRODUCTION

If you encounter an abnormal noise coming from the lower portion of the front strut assembly, there is the possibility that the coil spring is rubbing the
lower spring seat. To eliminate the noise, a rubber seat tube will need to be installed.

Rubber Seat Tube

20325FE000 (enough for 4 vehicles)

The following will also be needed:

-

ThreeBond 2706 quick-drying degreasing cleaner or equivalent

-

Any one of the following: ThreeBond 1521 synthetic rubber-based adhesive, Permatex Black Super Weatherstrip Adhesive, 3M(TM) Black Super
Weatherstrip Adhesive, or equivalent.

REPAIR PROCEDURES/INFORMATION

1)

Raise vehicle on lift and remove wheels to gain access to the lower portion of the front strut (see Figure 1).
