Impreza Brighton Coupe AWD F4-2.2L SOHC (1997)
a. Remove snap ring from front casing.
b. Remove shaft using a hand press.
CAUTION:

Discard old shaft assembly; replace with a new one.

Be careful not to scratch or dent casing's surface which serves as a seal.
c. Pry oil seal off using a screwdriver.
CAUTION: Be careful not to scratch inner surface of casing.
