Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch (For Computer): Testing and Inspection
Component Inspection
1.
Place coolant thermosensor into a container of water.
2.
Install a suitable ohmmeter onto coolant thermosensor and measure resistance of coolant thermosensor.
3.
With water temperature at 68° F., resistance value obtained should be 2-3 kilo ohms.
4.
Heat water until temperature is approximately 122°F Resistance value obtained should be 700-1000 ohms. If resistance values obtained are not
within the specified temperature ranges, replace coolant thermosensor.
