INJECTOR SYSTEM WIRING CHANGES THIS BULLETIN IS FOR INFORMATION ONLY
Check Connector IV has been discontinued in production. This connector was located on the firewall above the master cylinder on 4 Door Sedan, 3
Door, Station Wagon models and on the XT Coupe right side strut tower. This change took place with the following VIN's;

DIAGRAM INFORMATION ON THE LOCATION OF CHECK CONNECTOR IV CAN BE FOUND IN THE 1986 SUBARU SERVICE
MANUAL SECTION 6-2, PAGES 5,6,142 and 143 COVERING ALL MODELS LISTED ABOVE.
The following changes have been made because of check connector IV being discontinued;

The injector wires from the electronic control module (ECM) to the engine harness connector plugs are covered by a black plastic shield starting
with the following VIN's;

NOTE:
* INDICATES SOME VEHICLES BETWEEN THESE VIN'S DO NOT HAVE WIRE SHIELDING.

Vehicles with shielded injector wires will be color coded yellow for injectors #1 and #3 and blue for injectors #2 and #4 in the wiring harness from
the ECM to the engine harness connector.

To troubleshoot the injector system on vehicles without check connector IV, test the injector wires at the ECM connector.
