Deceleration Valve: Testing and Inspection

AIR HOSE

- Check that hose and connections are tight. Replace hose if leakage is found.

VACUUM LINE

Check vacuum line for leakage as follows:
- Disconnect vacuum hose from anti-afterburn valve and start engine.
- Check that air is drawn into vacuum hose. If not, hose is defective. 

ANTI-AFTERBURNING VALVE

- Hold piece of paper under valve and increase engine speed to 3000 RPM. Release throttle quickly. Paper should be drawn against valve if valve is

operating correctly. If not, valve is defective and should be replaced.
