Once you have confirmed that the hook requires replacing, remove it from the carpet by grasping it by hand and giving it a sharp tug upward with
moderate force. This will dislodge the retaining portion that is located below the carpeting. In order to install the replacement hook you will have
to gain access to this retaining portion.

Remove the handle for the fuel door (and trunk release for sedan) by pulling them forward (see figure 2).

Then remove the rear cover of the trim. Release the two front tabs by grasping and pulling upward, then slide the cover rearward to disengage the
locating tab (see Figure 3).

Once the rear cover is removed, disengage the locator pin by pulling up on it (see Figure 4).
