Electronic Brake Control Module: Testing and Inspection
Power Supply Voltage to ABS Control Unit
Fig. 29 ABS Control Unit Connector
1. Turn ignition switch off.
2. Disconnect connector from ABS control unit.
3. Disassemble connector as follows:
a. Pushing tab Fig. 29, then disconnect connector.
b. Remove screws from connector, move boot toward harness, and slide cover in direction as shown in Fig. 29.
4. Turn ignition On, measure voltage between connector P12 terminal 1 and ground on except SVX models or between connector R7 terminal 1 and
ground on SVX models, readings should be 10 and 12 volts.
5. Start engine, check input voltage of ABS control unit to alternator.
6. Measure voltage between ABS control unit connector P12 terminal 15 and ground on except SVX models or between ABS control unit R7
terminal 15 and ground on SVX models, readings should be 13.5 volts.
7. Check ABS control unit ground system by turning ignition switch on, measuring voltage between ABS control unit terminal 20 and ground.
Reading should be 0 volts.
8.
On models except SVX, check harness connector between ABS control unit and warning light by turning ignition switch Off, disconnecting
connector from ABS control unit, then measuring resistance between ABS control unit connector P12 terminal 29 and ground to check short
circuit. Reading should be one M Ohm resistance.
