IDENTIFICATION OF CORRECT 4EAT COOLER HOSE ROUTING AND ADDITIONAL RADIATOR COOLER FLUSHING INFORMATION
NOTE:
The information in this Bulletin should also be used in addition to Service Bulletin 16-51-92R. Add the checks and procedures listed below to Step A
Radiator Cooler Flushing Procedures.
In order to maximize the flushing of the 4EAT cooler, you must first ensure the cooler hoses are installed correctly. Figure 1 shows the CORRECT
installation and flow. To correctly flush this cooler, flush from the lower radiator outlet nipple and out the top inlet nipple as described in Service
Bulletin 16-51-92R.
Figure 2 shows the cooler hoses INCORRECTLY installed. Due to the incorrectly installed hoses, the cooler must be flushed from the top inlet nipple
and out the bottom outlet nipple. After flushing the cooler in this case, make sure you change the cooler hoses to their correct positions as shown in
Figure 1.
Whichever way the hoses were installed, correctly or incorrectly, the object to flushing the 4EAT cooler is to flush the contaminants out the shortest
distance of travel.
Upon completion of the service, make sure the cooler hoses are installed correctly to ensure proper flow of ATF through the cooler and ATF Filter Kit,
