Air Filter Element: Service and Repair
Air Cleaner Element
REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the ground cable from the battery.
2. Disconnect the connector from mass air flow and intake air temperature sensor.
3. Loosen the clamp (A) which connect the air cleaner case (rear) to intake duct.
4. Remove the clip (B) on the upper side of air cleaner case.
5. Pull the air cleaner case (rear) backward of the vehicle, and remove the air cleaner element.
INSTALLATION
Install in the reverse order of removal.
CAUTION: When replacing the air cleaner element, use the Subaru genuine air cleaner element according to the engine type. Use of other air
cleaner elements may do harm to engine performance.
NOTE: Fasten with a clip after inserting the lower tab of case.
