Fuel Pressure: Testing and Inspection

NOTE: Before disconnecting fuel hose, disconnect electrical connector from fuel pump and crank engine to release fuel pressure. If engine starts while
while cranking, operate engine until it stops. Then reconnect fuel pump connector.

1.

Disconnect fuel hose from pressure regulator and install a suitable fuel pressure gauge onto hose.

2.

Connect hose onto pressure regulator.

3.

With engine operating, measure fuel pressure at engine idle speed.

4.

Fuel pressure should be 26-30 psi.

5.

Increase engine speed and check to ensure that fuel pressure increases.
