Fuel Gauge: Component Tests and General Diagnostics
FUEL METER INSPECTION
NOTE: Make sure that all related connector terminals are in good contact condition before combination meter inspection.
1. Remove combination meter referring to Combination Meter Removal and Installation.
2. Connect combination meter connectors to combination meter.
3. Short "YEL" wire terminal of combination meter connector to body ground as shown.
4. Turn ignition switch to ON position, and check that meter pointer (1) of fuel level gauge indicates "E" and low fuel warning light turns on.
5. Turn ignition switch to OFF position.
6. Short "YEL" wire terminal of combination meter connector to body ground through a resister (20 Ohms) (2) as shown.
7. Turn ignition switch to ON position, and check that meter pointer (1) of fuel level gauge indicates "F".
If check result is not satisfied, replace combination meter.
