51 - Frontal Crash Detected (Deployment Command Outputted)
DTC WILL SET WHEN:
The SDM detects a frontal crash of sufficient force to warrant deployment of the air bags. (SDM outputs a deployment command.)
DTC 51 (Steps 1 And 2)
DTC TABLE DESCRIPTION:
Number(s) below refer to circled number(s) on the diagnostic table.
1. If air bag (inflator) module(s) has not deployed, DTC 51 may have set falsely.
2. If DTC 51 has set with no signs of frontal impact, the diagnostic trouble code has set falsely.
3. This test checks for an SDM malfunction setting the diagnostic trouble code.
71 - Internal SDM Fault or Data Area Full
DTC 71 (Step 1)
DTC SET WILL WHEN:
When an internal SDM fault occurred or when the collision data area in SDM has become full after the second collision being recorded.
NOTE: DTC 71 can never be cleared once it has been set.
