Grand Vitara 2WD V6-2.7L (2006)
1. Sound from normal operation of the strut piston (knocking noise) is being transferred into the cabin through the front strut supports.
2. Modifications have been made to the shape of the support, as well changing the rubber portion of the mount to a softer material. Please confirm that
the customer's concern is related to this information prior to performing the procedure.
Countermeasure parts:
3. 2009 MY vehicles have been equipped with the improved supports since the June 2008 start of production.
4. 2006~2008 MY vehicles that are confirmed as having a knocking noise heard inside the cabin, should have both front strut supports replaced with the
improved part number.
5. To identify if the mounts have been updated, please refer to the illustration to ensure that the supports being replaced are the "old" style parts.
6. Please refer to the applicable Service Manual for instructions to R&R the strut assemblies.
