Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch (For Computer): Service and Repair

ECT (Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor Removal and Installation

Removal

1. Disconnect negative cable from battery.
2. Drain coolant.
3. Disconnect connector from ECT sensor.
4. Remove ECT sensor (1).

Installation

Reverse removal procedure noting the following.

-

Check O-ring for damage and replace if necessary.

-

Tighten ECT sensor to specified torque.

Tightening torque
ECT sensor (a): 12 N.m (1.2 Kg-m, 9.0 lbf-ft)

Connect connector to ECT sensor.

-

Refill cooling system.

-

Check for coolant leakage.
