Forward-impact Sensor Removal And Installation

CAUTION:

-

Never repair or disassemble forward-impact sensor.

-

Never strike or jar a sensor.

Be careful when handling a sensor so as not to cause vibration or impact including dropping. If forward-impact sensor has been dropped,
replace it even if there is no defect in appearance. Replace with new one in case of defect such as deformation and cracks.

A sensor and mounting bracket bolts must be carefully torqued to assure proper operation. Under loose connection, it could cause
improper operation of air bag system.

Removal

1. Disable air bag system.
2. Remove front bumper.
3. Disconnect forward-impact sensor connector (2) as show in figure.

a. Release lock (1).
b. Disconnect connector with lock released.

4. Remove mounting bolt (3) and remove forward-impact sensor from right apron side member outer panel (4).
