6) Install torque converter (3) noting the following points.
CAUTION:

Before installing torque converter, make sure that its pump hub portion is free from nicks, burrs or damage which may cause oil
seal to leak.

Be very careful not to drop torque converter on oil pump. Damage in gear, should it occur, may cause a critical trouble.
^
Install torque converter aligning projection (1) of torque converter and grooves (2) of oil pump.
^
Install torque converter, using care not to damage input shaft oil seal.
^
After installing torque converter (3), check that distance "a" is within specification.

"a": More than 17.0 mm (0.669 in.)

Check torque converter for smooth rotation.
