Oil Pump: Service and Repair

1.

Inspect oil seal lip for damage, and replace as necessary.

Inspect outer and inner rotors for excessive wear or damage.

Using a suitable feeler gauge, measure radial clearance between outer rotor and case, Fig. 20. Clearance should be 0.0122 inch (0.310 mm). If
clearance is not as specified, replace outer rotor or case.

Using a straightedge and a suitable feeler gauge, measure oil pump side clearance, Fig. 21. Clearance should be 0.0059 inch (0.15 mm). If
clearance is not as specified, replace outer or inner rotors as necessary.
