1.
Repeat steps 1 through 9 as outlined under WHEEL HUB & BEARING.
2.
Loosen bolts securing upper and lower kingpins, Fig. 1. Do not remove kingpins.
3.
Remove disc dust cover attaching bolts, then disc dust cover, caliper holder and wheel spindle.
4.
Remove tie rod end castle nut, then using tie rod remover Fig. 11, disconnect tie rod from steering knuckle.
5.
Remove joint seal attaching bolts, then oil seal cover, pad, oil seal and retainer from knuckle.
6.
Remove upper and lower kingpins. When removing kingpins, mark with identification marks for installation. Also, check number of shims
used for each side.
7.
Pull off steering knuckle. When removing steering knuckle, kingpin lower bearing may fall out. Mark upper and lower kingpin bearings
for installation.
8.
Reverse procedure to install noting the following:
a. Torque joint seal bolts, upper and lower kingpin bolts to specifications.
