Steering Gear: Service and Repair
Removal and Installation
1. On models with power steering, disconnect coolant reservoir tank from radiator.
2. Remove steering lower shaft attaching bolt, then the center link end from pitman arm.
3. On models with power steering, disconnect pressure hose from gearbox.
4. Disconnect return hose from oil tank. Place container under tank to receive fluid.
5. Remove three steering gearbox attaching bolts.
6. Remove steering gearbox, disconnecting steering lower shaft joint.
7. On models with power steering, remove pitman arm from gearbox.
8. Reverse procedure to install.
