Place manual transmission models in Neutral or automatic transmission models in Park, then set parking brake and block drive wheels.

On 1989-90 models, disconnect coupler A from control relay, Fig. 1.
3.
On 1991-92 models, disconnect coupler from fuel pump relay, Fig. 2.
4.
On all models, remove fuel filler cap to release fuel vapor pressure in tank, then install cap.
5.
Start engine and run until it stops for lack of fuel. Repeat cranking engine three times for three seconds each time to dissipate fuel pressure in lines.
