Drive/Propeller Shaft: Service and Repair
ON-VEHICLE SERVICE REMOVAL
1) Hoist vehicle.
2) Drain transfer oil only when servicing front propeller shaft.
3) Before removing propeller shaft, give match marks on joint flange and propeller shaft as shown.
4) Remove propeller shaft.
INSTALLATION
1) Reverse removal to install propeller shaft.

Use the following specification to torque the universal joint flange and center support (if equipped).
Tightening Torque: (a): 55 N-m (5.5 kg-m, 40.0 lb-ft)

When installing the propeller shaft, align the match marks. Otherwise, vibration may occur during driving.
NOTE: If transfer oil was drained for front propeller shaft removal, pour specified gear oil into transfer case to specified level.
