Sensing and Diagnostic Module: Service and Repair
WARNING: When handling an air bag (inflator) module, be sure to read "HANDLING PRECAUTIONS" and observe each instruction.
Failure to follow them could cause a damage to the air bag (inflator) module or result in personal injury. See: Service Precautions/Handling
Precautions
REMOVAL
1. Disconnect negative battery cable.
2. Disable air bag system. See: Air Bag(s) Arming and Disarming/Service and Repair
3. Remove steering wheel side cap of right side and disconnect horn connectors.
4. Remove air bag (inflator) module bolts (2 pcs).
Special Tool (A): 09944-18230 or equivalent.
5. Remove air bag (inflator) module from steering wheel.
WARNING: Special care is necessary when handling and storing a live (undeployed) air bag (inflator) module. Observe I "Handling
Precaution" earlier in this section. Other wise, personal injury may result.
