Seat Belt Buckle Switch: Testing and Inspection
Seat Belt Buckle Sensor and Its Circuit Inspection
Refer to Front Seat Belt Components.
Seat Belt Buckle Sensor and Its Circuit Check
1. Connect SUZUKI scan tool to DLC with ignition switch OFF.
2. Turn ignition switch to ON position, select "Data LIST" mode on SUZUKI scan tool.
3. Check that displayed driver / passenger seat belt statement is correct when fastening and unfastening it referring to "Scan Tool Data: Advanced Air
Bag".
If displayed seat belt statement is correct is seat belt buckle sensor and its circuit are in good condition.
If not, check wire harness and connections.
If wire and connection are OK, replace seat belt buckle sensor.
Visual Check

Check sensor and its bracket for dents, cracks, deformation or rust.

Check sensor connector (sensor side and harness side) and sensor connector lock mechanism for damage or crack.

Check connector terminals for bend, corrosion or rust.
If defect found, replace seat belt buckle sensor.
