Timing Chain Idler Gear: Service and Repair
Camshaft Intermediate Drive Chain Idler Sprocket Replacement - Left Side
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the spark plugs in order to ease crankshaft/engine rotation.
2. Remove the engine front cover.
3. Remove the right bank secondary camshaft drive chain tensioner.
4. Remove the right bank secondary camshaft drive chain shoe.
5. Remove the right bank secondary camshaft drive chain guide.
6. Remove the right bank secondary camshaft drive chain.
7. Remove the primary camshaft drive chain tensioner.
8. Remove the primary upper camshaft drive chain guide.
9. Remove the primary camshaft drive chain.
10. Remove the right bank camshaft intermediate drive chain idler.
11. If you are servicing the left bank camshaft intermediate drive chain idler, perform the following steps:
a. Remove the left bank secondary camshaft drive chain tensioner.
