Fuel Pressure Regulator: Service and Repair

REMOVAL:

1. Disconnect the vacuum sensing hose.

Disconnecting Vacuum Hose From FPR

2. Put a suitable container under the FPR to catch any fuel that escapes.
3. Remove the union bolt and two gaskets for the fuel return pipe.

Disconnecting Fuel Return Line From FPR

4. Remove the two FPR mounting bolts and pull out the FPR from the fuel rail.

Removing Fuel Pressure Regulator

5. Remove the O-ring from the FPR.

INSTALLATION:

1. Install a new O-ring on the FPR.  Coat the O-ring with a light coat of gasoline to ease insertion into the fuel rail.
2. Insert the FPR into the fuel rail, giving attention to the proper positioning of the FPR to prevent fuel leaks.
