Brake Fluid Brake fluid reservoir The brake fluid reservoir is fastened with retaining straps to the brake master cylinder and has an additional connection for the hydraulic clutch actuation. In vehicles with automatic transmission, this connection is sealed off. As in the Sintra, the brake fluid level is monitored by an inductive Reed contact switch. Brake fluid • Service There is a new procedure for the brake fluid change due to the installation of the combination caliper at the rear axle. A detailed description of the operation is included in the "Astra-G Service Instructions, group H". Brake fluid quality must meet DOT 4 SAE J 1043 specifications. The Opel heavy duty brake fluid must be changed every 2 years during the Opel/Vauxhall Inspection Systems.
