Brake Linings  

All brake linings for the front wheel brakes are equipped with a brake lining wear indicator. Acoustic brake lining wear indicators - metal plates riveted to the linings (arrows) - on the inner and outer brake linings cause a squealing noise on the brake disk when the wear limit is reached.  

Vehicles with the Multi-Info-Display (MID) are additionally equipped with electronic wear indicators.   • Service   When new brake linings are installed, the arrows stamped on the brake linings must face forwards.
