Brake Shoes > < Brake Backing Plate - Rear Wheel, Remove and Install

Brake Anchor Plate – Rear Wheel Brake, Remove and Install

  Remove

Top up brake fluid reservoir to "MAX" mark and seal with MKM-558-10.

Detach rear wheel.

Remove brake drum – see operation "Brake Drum, Remove and Install".

Remove rear wheel brake shoes – see operation "Brake Shoes – Rear Wheel Brake, Remove and Install".

Remove wheel brake cylinder (1) – see operation "Wheel Brake Cylinder, Remove and Install".

Detach retention clip (4) and remove parking brake cable (3) from brake anchor plate.

Remove wheel bearing unit (2) with brake anchor plate for rear axle – see operation "Wheel Bearing Unit, Remove and Install" in group "F".

  Install

Attach brake anchor plate with wheel bearing unit – see operation "Wheel Bearing Unit, Remove and Install" in group "F".

Insert parking brake cable in brake anchor plate and attach new retention clip.

Install wheel brake cylinder – see operation "Wheel Brake Cylinder, Remove and Install".

Install rear wheel brake shoes – see operation "Brake Shoes – Rear Wheel Brake, Remove and Install".

Install brake drum – see operation "Brake Drum, Remove and Install".

Attach rear wheel – 110 Nm / 81 lbf. ft.

  Inspect

Bleed brake system and check for leaks – see operation "Brake System, Bleed and Check for Leaks".

Actuate brake pedal repeatedly. Top up brake fluid to "MAX" mark on brake fluid reservoir.
