Assistance with Analysis if There are Complaints of Selection Problems

Symptom Description: Selection problems

1.

Read and carry out corresponding Field Remedies (TSB)

Check clutch pedal movement

The clutch pedal must move down to the floor plate.

Ensure that no foot mat or similar is in the area below the clutch pedal.

Check/adjust remote gear selection

-

Bleeding the hydraulic clutch actuation

-

5.

Check that clutch disengages

  • Engine running at idle
  • Press clutch
  • Selector in neutral for around 10 seconds
  • Engage 1st gear

If the vehicle jerks slightly, the clutch is not disengaging properly.

Remove transmission

Check

  • Are the correct parts fitted?
  • Check clutch for damage
  • Check grease on clutch hub, if necessary clean and grease clutch plate hub and gear input shaft toothing
  • Centring bushes present on engine, and not damaged or loose?
  • Check flywheel according to new ZMS damage diagnosis
