Prepare under-run protection

Mark hole (1) position with a scribe
- = 105 mm
- = 18 mm

| 2. |
Pre-drill hole with 5 mm drill
bit
|
| 3. |
Complete hole with 9 mm drill
bit

| 4. |
Deburr hole edges and mark with paint
|
| 5. |
Raise vehicle by full height
|
|
| 6. |
Attach under-run protection to front axle body
Note: Only tighten
bolts hand-tight.

Screw in 3x bolt (arrows)

| 7. |
Transfer borehole marking (1) to the front axle body
|
|
| 8. |
Start drilling front axle body with 9
mm drill bit to mark it
|
| 9. |
Attach under-run protection of front axle body
| • |
Unscrew and remove 3x bolt
|
| • |
Remove under-run protection
|
|
|
| 10. |
Drill hole (1) 13.5 mm in front
axle body
| • |
Pre-drill hole with 5 mm drill
bit

| • |
Open up hole with 9 mm drill
bit
|
| • |
Complete hole with 13.5 mm drill
bit

|
|
| 11. |
Deburr hole edges and mark with paint

| 12. |
Fit rivet nut (arrow) to front axle body using MKM-6108
|
|
| 13. |
Attach under-run protection to front axle body
| • |
Tighten 4x bolt firmly 15 Nm
|
|
| 14. |
Lower vehicle by full height
|
