Camshafts, Remove and Install > < Removing and installing both camshafts

Replace camshaft sensor

  Remove

1.   Remove air intake manifold
•   Unscrew bolt (2)
2.   Remove engine vent hose from cylinder head cover
•   Release clamp (4)
3.   Detach air intake pipe from air intake hose
•   Release clamp (1)
– Release clamp
4.   Detach air intake pipe from turbocharger
•   Release clamp (3)
Note:   Seal air intake pipe at turbocharger
5.   Remove air intake pipe

6.   Remove air filter housing with mass air flow meter
•   Detach mass air flow meter wiring harness plug (3)
•   Detach air intake hose from air intake pipe
– Release clamp (2)
•   Unscrew bolt (1)

7.   Remove fastening bolts (1) and remove top front toothed belt cover from rear toothed belt cover

8.   Detach cover (1) from cylinder head cover
9.   Disconnect wiring harness plug from ignition module
10.   Detach wiring harness plug (2) from camshaft sensor
11.   Detach fastening bolt (3) from camshaft sensor
12.   Remove camshaft sensor (4) from above

  Install

13.   Insert camshaft sensor from above and attach using fastening bolt 6 Nm
14.   Attach top front toothed belt cover to rear toothed belt cover 6Nm
15.   Connect wiring harness plug to camshaft sensor
16.   Attach cover to cylinder head cover
17.   Attach wiring harness plug to ignition module
18.   Remove seal from turbocharger air intake pipe
19.   Attach engine vent hose to cylinder head cover
•   Fasten clamp
20.   Attach air intake pipe to turbocharger
•   Fasten clamp
21.   Attach air intake pipe to air intake hose
•   Fasten clamp
22.   Screw in bolt
