Customer complaint about whistling noise
from engine, sometimes P0105 (Map sensor) and P0170 (fuel mixture)
set in ECU. |
| Cause: |
Cracked air pressure membrane inside the
cylinder head cover. |
| Production: |
Improved parts have been implemented in
production as of engine no.: 20MV7706 (13-Oct-2008). |
Remedy:
In case of customer complaint remove the oil dipstick or oil filler
cap. If whistling noise disappears replace cylinder head cover. For
variants with map sensor it's also possible to check the manifold
absolute pressure with the Tech 2. During idle and without load it
should be between 32 - 38 kPa.
