Replace engine compartment electronics (UEC)
Note: When replacing
the control unit, before removing the control unit carry out a
"Reset" with TECH 2.
Remove
1. |
Disconnect battery.

Disconnect ground cable
|

2. |
Remove wiring harness for positive distribution (1) from
positive terminal
|
3. |
Unclip compact plug (3)
|
4. |
Remove cover for engine compartment electronics (UEC) and
positive distribution (2)
|
|
|
5. |
Release engine compartment electronics (UEC)
• |
Unscrew nut (1) from voltage supply
|
• |
Unclip 2x retaining lug (arrow)
|
|
6. |
Remove engine compartment electronics (UEC)
Note: The screws (2)
must be unscrewed until the wiring harness plugs (3) below the
engine compartment electronics (UEC) can be unlocked.
Note: Please pay
attention to this when replacing the engine compartment electronic
module!
The maximum relay and fuse allocation is included in the scope of
supply. Surplus relays and fuses remain in the engine compartment
electronics module. Fuses F3, F4, F5, F6 and F10 must - where
fitted - be transferred from the faulty engine compartment
electronics module (for fuse allocation, see Circuit diagram).

Install
Important: Press positioning pin
(1) down to the stop with a suitable tool.

Insert engine compartment electronics (UEC)
|
|
|
8. |
Attach engine compartment electronics (UEC)
• |
Tighten 3x bolt 6 Nm
Note: Positioning pins
must be fully visible again when installed.

• |
Tighten nut of voltage supply 7
Nm
|
• |
Clip in 2x retaining lug
|
|
9. |
Attach cover for engine compartment electronics (UEC) and
positive distribution
|
11. |
Attach wiring harness for positive distribution to positive
terminal
|
13. |
Program volatile memories
Note: When replacing
the control unit, after fitting the control unit carry out
"programming" with TECH 2.
