Glow Plug Replacement (1.7L Diesel LPL and LPV)

EN-48558 Glow Plug Socket Remover

For equivalent regional tools, refer to Special Tools .

1.	Open the hood.

2.	Remove the engine sight shield. Refer to Engine Sight Shield Replacement .

3.	Clean around of each glow plug.

Caution: Use care when disconnecting the glow plug electrical connector. Use of excessive force may damage the electrical connector.

4.	Disconnect the 4 glow plug wiring harness plugs (1), using the EN-48558 socket remover .

Note: The graphic shows the engine without the fuel injection components to simplify the illustration.

5.	Remove the 4 glow plugs (1).

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution .

1.	Install the 4 glow plugs (1) and tighten to 14 N·m (124 lb in) .

2.	Connect the 4 glow plug wiring harness plugs (1).

3.	Install the engine sight shield. Refer to Engine Sight Shield Replacement .

4.	Close the hood.
