Oil Filter Adapter and Oil Cooler Assembly Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
2. Remove the engine sight shield. Refer to Engine Sight Shield Replacement .
3. Remove the front compartment insulator. Refer to Front Compartment Insulator Replacement .
4. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .

5. Remove the coolant return hose clamp (2)
6. Remove the coolant return hose (3) from the oil cooler (1).

7. Remove the oil return hose clamp (2) from the oil filter housing (1).
8. Remove the oil return hose (3) from the oil filter housing (1).

9. Remove the exhaust pressure sensor bracket bolt (4).
10. Remove the exhaust pressure sensor bracket (3) from the oil filter housing (2).
11. Disconnect the wiring harness plug (5).
12. Remove the oil filter adapter hollow screw (1)
13. Remove the oil filter adapter hollow screw sealing ring.
14. Remove the oil filter adapter flange bolt (6).
15. Remove the oil filter adapter with oil cooler (2).
16. Remove the 2 sealing rings

Installation Procedure

1. Install the 2 NEW oil filter adapter sealing rings
2. Install the oil filter adapter with oil cooler (2).
3. Install the oil filter adapter hollow screw sealing ring.
4. Install the oil filter adapter hollow screw (1).

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution .
5. Install the oil filter adapter flange bolt (6) and tighten to 46 N·m (34 lb ft) .
6. Tighten the oil filter adapter hollow screw (1) to 110 N·m (81 lb ft) .
7. Connect the wiring harness plug (5).
8. Install the exhaust pressure sensor bracket (3) to the oil filter housing (2).
9. Install the exhaust pressure sensor bracket bolt (4) and tighten to 20 N·m (15 lb ft) .

10. Install the oil return hose (3) to the oil filter housing (1).
11. Install the oil return hose clamp (2) to the oil filter housing (1).

12. Install the coolant return hose (3) to the oil cooler (1).
13. Install the coolant return hose clamp (2)
14. Install the front compartment insulator. Refer to Front Compartment Insulator Replacement .
15. Install the engine sight shield. Refer to Engine Sight Shield Replacement .
16. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
17. Connect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
