Engine Coolant Heater Replacement (1.4L LDD and 1.6L LDE)Removal Procedure

| 1. | Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling . |
| 2. | Remove instrument panel compartment. Refer to Instrument Panel Compartment Replacement . |
| 3. | Remove the floor front air outlet duct - right side. Refer to Floor Front Air Outlet Duct Replacement - Right Side . |
| 4. | Remove the engine coolant heater nut (1). |
| 5. | Remove the dash upper extension panel opening cover. Refer to Dash Upper Extension Panel Opening Cover Replacement . |
| 6. | Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement . |
| 7. | Remove the 2 upper engine coolant heater bolts (1) from engine coolant heater (2). |
| 8. | Release the fuel feed pipe (1) from the engine coolant heater (2). |
| 9. | Remove the engine coolant heater air supply hose screen. Refer to Engine Coolant Heater Air Supply Hose Screen Replacement . |
| 10. | Disconnect electrical connectors from engine coolant heater. |
| 11. | Remove the 2 heater hose clamps (1) and the 2 heater hoses (2). |
| 12. | Remove the engine coolant heater exhaust muffler pipe clamp (3) and engine coolant heater exhaust muffler pipe (4). |
| 13. | Remove the engine coolant heater (5). |
| 14. | Remove the engine coolant heater bracket. Refer to Engine Coolant Heater Bracket Replacement . |
Installation Procedure
| 1. | Install the engine coolant heater bracket. Refer to Engine Coolant Heater Bracket Replacement . |
| 2. | Install the engine coolant heater (5). |
| 3. | Install and tighten the 2 heater hose clamps (1) and the 2 heater hoses (2). |
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution |
| 4. | Install the engine coolant heater exhaust silencer pipe (4) and tighten engine coolant heater exhaust silencer pipe clamp (3) to 6 N·m (53 lb in) . |
| 5. | Connect electrical connectors from engine coolant heater. |
| 6. | Remove the engine coolant heater air supply hose screen. Refer to Engine Coolant Heater Air Supply Hose Screen Replacement . |
| 7. | Install the fuel feed pipe (1) to the engine coolant heater (2). |
| 8. | Install the 2 upper engine coolant heater bolts (1) to engine coolant heater (2) tighten to 9 N·m (80 lb in) . |
| 9. | Install the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement . |
| 10. | Install the dash upper extension panel opening cover. Refer to Dash Upper Extension Panel Opening Cover Replacement . |
| 11. | Install the engine coolant heater nut (1) tighten to 20 N·m (15 lb ft) . |
| 12. | Remove instrument panel compartment. Refer to Instrument Panel Compartment Replacement . |
| 13. | Remove the floor front air outlet duct - right side. Refer to Floor Front Air Outlet Duct Replacement - Right Side . |
| 14. | Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling . |
