Front Seat, Remove and Install

Remove

Operation shows left front seat.

The data also apply to the right front seat.

Remove clip-on covers from seat bolts.

Unbolt seat from vehicle floor.

Front fastening:

1     Guide rail

2     Hex bolt

3     Insert nut

4     Mount

5     Crossmember

Rear fastening:

1     Guide rail

2     Hex bolt

3     Weld nut

4     Seat fastening reinforcement

6     Mount

7     Vehicle floor (underbody)

Install

Bolt seat to vehicle floor (use new bolts).

Tighten according to instructions (seat length adjustment must catch evenly on both sides - see illus. C 0280).

1.    Bolt rear of seat rail to mounting (positions 2 and 4) without play but still adjustable.

2.    Tighten rails in position 1 and then in position 3 to 20 Nm/14.75 lbf. ft.

3.    Tighten rails in position 2 and then in position 4 to 20 Nm/14.75 lbf. ft.
