Measure
oil temperature in sump 1 cm/0.4 in. above sump bottom.
Guide
sensor into dipstick tube until it touches bottom and draw it back 1 cm/0.4
in.
Seal
opening of dipstick tube with rubber plug to avoid taking in outside air
(crankcase vent).
Rubber
plug is enclosed with antenna mounting parts.
Note: The
oil temperature is dependent on the engine load at the time of measurement.
Under extreme loads, oil temperatures up to approx. 150 °C/302 °F are possible.
