Remove manual transmission
and differential.
See corresponding operation in this group.
If only transmission is to be overhauled,
transmission end shield together with main shaft and turbine shaft should be
removed from main case (described as part of operation "Synchronizer
Rings, Replace" in this group).
Mount transmission on
transmission stand using Transmission Holding Fixture KM-444-2 in conjunction
with Fixture Base KM-489.

F 10/5 - and F 13/5 - Manual Transmission
The transmission is
identified by a number combination (transmission number) visible on the end
shield (illus. B 7892).

F 16/5 Manual Transmission
The transmission is
identified by a number combination (transmission number) visible on the
transmission cover on the end shield of the F 16/4 transmission (illus. B
6563).
F 20/5 Manual Transmission
The transmission
identification (transmission number) can be seen from a combination of
figures on the transmission cover (illus. C 7641).

112 = Day of year
3 = Last digit of year
1 = Shift,
= 1 = early shift
= 2 = late shift
W = Transmission code (not present in F 20/5)
394 =Drive ratio (e.g. 3.94)
... =Space for figures and/ or letters for
special uses (e.g. large scale production trial, etc.)
